Conditions ripe for brush fires, Salem blaze extinguished – Boston News, Weather, Sports

MIDDLETON, MASS. (WHDH) – A red flag warning is in effect Friday for most of Massachusetts.

This means that the conditions are ripe for brush fires.

Crews have been in Middleton this week, with firefighters asking residents to avoid the Lake Street area and surrounding walking trails.

The brush fire in Salem is out; The mayor’s office said on Thursday that the fire was completely extinguished.

The location of the fire is still being monitored for potential sparks.
