Early voting in Texas ends Friday. Find polling places near you

Friday is the last day to vote early ahead of Election Day next week.

This year’s poll features several notable races, including the hotly contested presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

In Texas, a key Senate seat is also up for grabs, where Democratic candidate US Rep. Colin Allred of Dallas is challenging Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.

Voters will also consider several key proposals, including Amarillo’s Prop A to become a sanctuary city for the unborn, Dallas’ proposal to decriminalize cannabis, and school bonding measures in districts like Frisco and Allen.

Where can I vote early in Texas?

Registered voters can cast their ballot early at any polling place in their county.

About the Texas Secretary of State VoteTexas.gov website, earliest polling places can be found in the “In-Person Voting” section by clicking on “Where is my polling place” and then “My voter portal.” Once there, enter your name, county, date of birth and zip code to find your registration information and the nearest polling place.

What do I need to bring to vote?

According to VoteTexas.Govthe following is a list of acceptable forms of photo ID required to vote:

  • Texas driver’s license
  • Texas Election ID Certificate
  • Texas Personal ID Card
  • Texas gun license
  • US citizenship certificate with photo
  • US military ID card
  • American passport

Those who are unable to present one of the forms of ID listed above can complete one Statement of reasonable hindrance at the polling stations and present an alternative form of ID. It could be a bill, bank statement, government check or voter registration certificate.
