Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia sends message to Auburn before matchup with Tigers

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia already has history against Auburn and Hugh Freeze and seems poised to right the next chapter Saturday morning.

A little over two hours before kickoff, Pavia posted what appeared to be a message to Auburn on his Instagram story. The post was a screenshot of the lyrics from the song “Heyy” by Lil Baby, with the line “They thought I was lucky last time” highlighted.

Pavia helped lead New Mexico State to an upset win over Auburn last season, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-10 win. The year before, Pavia led the Aggies to a 49-14 victory over Freeze’s Liberty squad.

Now at Vanderbilt, Pavia has led the Commodores to a 5-3 record and an upset win over Alabama earlier in the season. He has 1,534 passing yards this season with 13 passing touchdowns while rushing for another 537 yards and four touchdowns.

Kickoff between Auburn and Vanderbilt is set for 11:45 a.m. and will be streamed on the SEC Network.
