Coastguards have closed the path and asked people to “avoid this area”

A coastal path has been closed in east Devon after a rock fall, coastguards have said.

The Beer Coastguard Rescue Team was sent by HM Coastguard to investigate the fall between Peak Hill and High Peak in Sidmouth on Saturday.

The service closed the path and asked people to “avoid this area”.

It advised people to stay back from the cliff edge, note the warning signs and call 999 and ask for the coastguard if anyone is in difficulty.
