Brooklyn nailed the Grammy-nominated femcee’s look and captured every detail from the video.

At the beginning of clip, Brooklyn could be seen rocking a red fur coat, which she opened to reveal a modish matching red bodysuit adorned with cutouts. Brooklyn completed her chic look with a vibrant red wig, oversized sunglasses and cool chains, perfectly channeling Kim’s spirit from the legendary visual.

As the video progressed, the 8-year-old showed off several other colorful outfits inspired by the music video, including a playful green wig paired with a lace long-sleeved top and a striking dark blue wig with oversized blue fur. The whole family joined in the fun, danced and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Jaxson stepped into the role of Lil’ Cease, while older sister London portrayed Aaliyah. The video was meant to be an innocent celebration of creativity and family fun, but social media users raised an eyebrow at the post as they thought Brooklyn’s costume was “inappropriate” and “shocking”.

One user wrote:

“There’s no way you guys thought that was appropriate.”

Another naysayer commented that they were uncomfortable watching the adorable 8-year-old recite Kim’s sassy lyrics from the hit song. Some pondered why Gia didn’t step in to portray the famous rap star.

“This is highly inappropriate for a child to wear as a costume and to have her sing the suggestive lyrics.”

The video received a lot of praise; however, Cardi B commented on the parents’ unique Halloween costume idea and Brooklyn’s performance.

“She took the task very seriously, SHE EAT IT!!!” commented the rapper.

Envy replied back:

@iamcardib Man…. She practiced… Now she wants to rap!!!”

Another supporter wrote:

“I love it idc. Taught my babies everything there is to know about hip hop culture. Kim is an icon and an entertainer. Ppl take themselves way too seriously.”

DJ Envy ignored the naysayers and posted more Halloween content

It seems that Envy and Gia are not affected by the criticism. In fact, the radio host and his wife doubled down by sharing two more videos from their Halloween celebration.

One clip featured their daughter, London, delivering a stunning impersonation of Aaliyah’s “One In A Million” music video. Another clip captured Envy playfully scaring his family while dressed in one Black Panther costume.

What do you think? Was little Brooklyn’s costume inappropriate or are people making a big deal out of it?
