Fortnite Remix: The Prelude and Chapter 2 start times: When does the downtime begin?

Fortnite remix will be a three-part experience with a live show, a new season and a final “event to remember”, Epic Games has revealed.

To kick things off, in Prelude: The Remix players will once again temporarily dispense with theirs Battle Royale duties to collectively engage in a new activity or experience. In the past, players have been treated to a virtual concert starring a giant Travis Scott and teaming up to destroy an alien mothership.

This time, Epic Games is teasing a musical nostalgia fest that will serve as a precursor to the new season, titled Chapter 2: Remix.

Here’s everything you need to know about the looming updates, including the inevitable downtime that will render the game unplayable.

Fortnite Live Event Start Time: When Does Remix: The Prelude Begin?

Fortnite’s Remix: The Prelude live event starts on Friday, November 1 at 10.30pm UK (3.30pm PDT/6.30pm EDT).

Have younger players beg their parents to let them stay up past their bedtime – or sneak their phones under the covers.

The live event will take place in Battle Royale and Zero Build playlists, and players will be protected from the storm and unable to deal other damage in Restored Reels.

When does the downtime start?

To ensure all eyes are on the main event, matchmaking is typically disabled for some modes shortly before the start of a live show.

For its part, Epic recommends players log into the game a few hours early to avoid having to wait in line and risk missing out on the action.

More downtime usually follows an event, while Epic takes the entire game offline for several hours so it can implement the new seasonal update.

When does Fortnite Chapter 2: Remix start?

Fortnite Chapter 2: Remix should therefore start early in the morning on Saturday, November 2.

Based on the start times of previous seasons, we expect it to start around 07:00 in the UK, although downtime for updates may vary.

The season will run until November 30, when it will conclude with a Remix: The Finale finale event.

Although it has Chapter 2 in the title, the new season may not only focus on that era. As usual, the map is subject to change, bringing back old locations like Craggy Cliffs, Dirty Docks and Frenzy Farm.

For its part, Epic has released a series of clips teasing the return of past characters, including 8-Ball, TNTina, Midas Meowscles, female Guff, and a new female Chaos Agent who will likely be in the Chapter 2 battle pass.

Elsewhere, Fortnite Festival could have Snoop Dogg as its season six headliner. Epic, who could also appear during the Prelude (or maybe it will be Marshmello, who hosted Fortnite’s first live event in 2019).

Epic has also revealed that Reload Solos will drop at the same time as Fortnite Remix on November 2nd. As a result, players will finally be able to go it alone in the more compact competitive mode, starting with an extra respawn and picking up more with each elimination (with a maximum of three respawns).
