NFL Week 9: Texans-Jets TNF Odds, Prediction, Discussion

The Kansas City Chiefs close out Week 9 of the NFL season by hosting Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football”.

But week 9 starts with (6-2) Houston Texas heading towards (2-6) New York Jets on “Thursday Night Football.” Kickoff is set for 19:15 (Arrowhead Daylight Time) on Amazon Prime, KRIV (FOX/26-Houston) and WNYW (FOX/5-New York).

According to FanDuel Sportsbookthe Jets are favored by 2.5 points.

The Texans will arrive at MetLife Stadium having won four of their last five frames – most recently a 24-22 road loss to Green Bay Packers in Week 7, followed by a 23-20 home win vs Indianapolis Colts. Meanwhile, the Jets are coming off five straight losses – the last two on the road. Two weeks ago they suffered a 37-15 defeat at the hands of Pittsburgh Steelers. So on Sunday, New York couldn’t close out a win. After taking a 22-17 lead with just under three minutes remaining, the Jets surrendered a 12-play, 70-yard touchdown drive that secured New England Patriots a 25-22 win.

I can’t go with the oddsmakers on this one. I think the Texans will win this one 24-10.
