HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ, October 29, 2024 – Hamilton resident Elizabeth “Betty” Wade had always been active and enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill until a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) diagnosis resulted in her being oxygen dependent.

“I had smoked for more than 50 years,” says Betty Wade. “Then five years ago I started experiencing shortness of breath, fatigue and a lot of phlegm. That’s when I went to see my primary care physician, Arthur Pacia, MD, who diagnosed me with COPD.” Betty then began the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at RWJUH Hamilton and saw improvement after just a few sessions. “The staff is wonderful and patient and they answer all my questions. I look forward to my appointments and I cannot recommend this program enough,” adds Betty.”
