The former NFL executive is making one of the most outrageous Detroit Lions trade proposals ever

Mike Tannenbaum maybe just cooked up the most revolting thing Detroit Lions trade proposal you’ll ever see from an NFL expert involving Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garret.

Tannenbaum, who ran front offices for the Jets and Dolphins in the 2000s during a nearly three-decade football career, was on ESPN’s “Get Up” morning show on Friday, and his idea caused fellow analyst and former NFL cornerback Ryan Clark to briefly walk off the set.

Why? Well, here was Tannenbaum’s trade:

  • Lions get: Myles Garrett.

  • Browns get: Three first-round picks, Jahmyr Gibbs and second-round pick.

“And that one Detroit Lions gonna win the Super Bowl!” Tannenbaum exclaimed.

“They’re going to throw in the Joe Louis fist,” Dan Graziano interjected, “the GM building, like what else, the big bridge to Canada,” Dan Graziano said.

“They need a pass rusher in the worst way,” Tannenbaum said. “Aidan Hutchinson can come back, this guy (Garrett) is still young, in the prime of his career, and if I’m Detroit, I can win the Super Bowl. Jahmyr Gibbs is a good player, but he’s replaceable.”

“Three (firsts)” asked analyst and former NFL linebacker Bart Scott incredulously?

“It’s really four when you think about it because Gibbs was a first-rounder last year.”

“Brad Holmes, who came from the Rams — F them picks — it’s going to be low picks and you’re not going to have the ability to get anybody.”

“What kind of Herschel Walker trade is this?” Scott said.

“Why wouldn’t they win the Super Bowl with Myles Garrett with the way this offense is going?”

“You could win it without them,” Graziano said.

“You have the right team, wrong player,” Scott said. “Go get Za’Darius Smith and keep your picks. Jahmyr Gibbs in their home run hitter. This is a team built around running the football. Za’Darius Smith will be fine, you get him for a case of kool aid.”

“Myles Garrett is possibly the best player in the NFL, not a quarterback,” Tannenbaum responded.

Clark finally went back to the set to share his opinion.

“This team is good enough without making it to type of change,” Clark said before agreeing the Lions need a proven pass rusher.

“To give up Jahmyr Gibbs is to give up part of your offensive identity. And the offensive identity of this team, to me, is the driving force behind them winning the Super Bowl.”

Tannenbaum ended the conversation and looked at it from a front office view.

“Guys, don’t get me wrong, I think Jahmyr Gibbs is a great player, I’m just saying from a team building standpoint, it’s almost impossible to get someone like Myles Garrett.”

Yes, still no thanks.
