Operation Green Light “Green Glow” Kickoff November 2nd at Whitney Commons – Sheridan Media

Veterans Day is just around the corner. Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed annually on November 11. This day is set aside to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

In connection with a local celebration of Veterans Day, organizations have come together to hold a benefit fair and raise local support for Operation Green Light.

Through the simple act of replacing front porch light bulbs with a green bulb, residents and businesses can show veterans in the community that they are remembered and supported. These organizations are asking everyone to get Sheridan greenlit for the week of November 4-11.

Sheridan VA Health Care System Public Affairs Specialist Cherish Thompson and Community Engagement and Partnership Coordinator Kayla Stevens worked to bring together representatives from many of the organizations to appear on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the Operation Green Light “Green Glow” Kickoff.

Sheridan City Councilman Greg Luhman has visited many downtown businesses, Sheridan Fire and Rescue and other locations to spread the word about Operation Green Light in the community.

Organized by the Sheridan Veterans Administration Health Care System Operation Green Light “Green Glow” Kickoff begins at 6:00pm – 7:00pm Saturday, November 2nd at Whitney Commons.

Thompson said the Operation Green Light “Green Glow” Kickoff was developed to be an informative celebration for veterans and their families.

Thompson said they welcome all organizations in the Sheridan County Community that provide services to veterans to attend and invited all veterans, their families as well as families who may have lost a veteran or service member or a resident who simply want to show support to come and enjoy the event.
