Devin Booker scored 40 points and Kevin Durant added 18 to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 125-119 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.

Royce O’Neale scored 21 points off the bench for the 4-1 Suns, who allowed 70 points in the first half and were down by as many as 21 before mounting a successful comeback.

O’Neale hit the biggest shot of the game, knocking down a three with 45 seconds left for a 118-112 lead.

Phoenix’s hot shooting got the job done, with the Suns making 51.2 percent of their shots and 18-of-39 threes. Notably, Phoenix made its first 15 field goal attempts in the third quarter.

Clippers point guard James Harden led LA with a 25-point, 13-assist, 10-rebound triple-double. Norman Powell scored 23 points and Ivica Zubac added a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

The Suns ultimately won a tough battle, moving into a second place tie in the West with the Golden State Warriors.

Fans and analysts recognized their impressive effort, led by Booker, who shot 11-of-18 (5-of-9 from three) and added eight assists and three steals.

Phoenix now heads home for a three-game stretch that begins Saturday night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
